NYFW: Tadashi Shoji Fall 2012, Vintage Glamour

I just finished watching the New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 Tadashi Shoji show, and it was all about vintage glamour. Did you see it?  I think Mr. Shoji has been watching a little bit of Downtown Abbey in his spare time.  From the chignons at the nap of the neck, to the flutter sleeves and drop waists, this show embodied styles of a bygone era.  As we know in fashion, everything old can quickly become new again.  Mr. Shojo paid homage to some of the great styles of the Edwardian era, the 1920s and even some 1930s early Hollywood styles.  The result was a gorgeous show with period music, plenty of chiffon, lace and beads, all set against the delicate backdrop of black lace panels on the Lincoln Center stage.  Vintage touches included fishtail gowns, fringe and even scalloped and handkerchief hemlines. Being a lover of vintage, I adored this collection.  I can’t wait to see it in stores and inevitably on the Hollywood Red Carpet.  Can you buy Tadashi Shoji at a discount I hear you asking? The answer is a resounding yes.  That’s why Tadashi Shoji is on The Recessionista’s fashion pick list.
