Shopping tips for the Kenzo x HM collection! Get your Kenzo at H&M
H&M has announced their rules for shopping the Kenzo collection on Nov. 3rd. So if you like this collection, and have your shopping strategy in place (read our Kenzo for H&M preview post) then get prepared to wait in line at the store and in the queue online. The collection will available in select stores from 8 am local time and online from 8 am EST US/ 5 am PST on November 3, 2015. In the UK/Europe the collection will go on sale in stores at 9 am GMT. Read on to learn when to shop, how many items you can buy and when to try to shop. Generally, plan to get to the store very early to get into the lines. If you’re planning to line up to shop at the store, dress in layers so you can stay warm outside with a coat or sweater you can take off when you enter the store. If you’re shopping these before, you know the race is to the swift! You’ll have to move quick to get your Kenzo for H&M. As soon as the doors open, the mob starts running and grabbing!
HOW MANY ITEMS FROM KENZO x H&M CAN YOU BUY?
To allow as many customers as possible to buy from the Kenzo x H&M collection, online purchases are limited to no more than one item per product, i.e. one size (shoes/garments) or piece (accessories). Store purchases are limited to no more than two items per product. This applies to all items in the collection. Please note that this is online is 1 per style per customer – in store it is more– 2 per style per customer.
SHOPPING IN STORE FOR KENZO X H&M
The first 420 people in line will be given a colored bracelet – 14 colors with one for each group of 30 customers. Your color determines when it’s your time to shop in the designer collection area. Each group will have 15 minutes to shop. The bracelets are only for customers shopping the Kenzo x H&M collection. If you are not in the first 420, you can still shop in the store, as the bracelet system only applies to the Kenzo x H&M collection. After the last group shops H&M will open the designer collection area to all customers.
JOINING THE LINE AT THE H&M STORE
If you arrive before the store opens, please join the line and the H&M staff will tell you how the shopping system works
RETURNS
Generally, you’ll have 6 days to make returns from Nov 3 to Nov 9th. That is VERY different than the typical 90 day return policy H&M usually has. This 6 day return policy is–in my opinion– an attempt to curtail eBay resellers from price gouging. They won’t be able to do long listings or listing that don’t see, and then relist, or they will lose out on returns. Of course, there are items from Kenzo from H&M already available on eBay–probably from various press previews of stylist events. Also note, accessories will not be returnable, so choose wisely.
According to H&M “We offer a return or exchange in the original form of payment, with a receipt, until November 9th. From November 10th – November 21st, with or without receipt, refunds will be issued in the form of a merchandise credit card. After November 21st returns of the KENZO x HM collection will no longer be accepted.”
IN STORE: On items from the collection, purchased in H&M stores, H&M offers a return or exchange until November 8th, with receipt, in the original form of payment. After November 9th, with or without receipt, refunds will be issued as a store credit at the current selling price, in the form of a merchandise credit card. Note that accessories are not returnable for hygiene reasons. All merchandise must be returned in original selling condition. Valid photo ID required for returns without receipt.
ONLINE RETURNS: On items from the collection, purchased at hm.com, H&M will offer a return or exchange, in the original form of payment, on returns that are postmarked within 7 days of package receipt. Accessories are not returnable for hygiene reasons. All merchandise must be returned in original selling condition. Per H&M, ” After November 21st returns will no longer be accepted in stores and must be returned via mail. All merchandise must be returned in original selling condition. Valid photo ID required for returns without a receipt, in stores.”
What do you think readers? Will you line up to shop, or pass on this one? I have to admit I am on the fence. It seems like there are fewer stores carrying this special collection this year, so it might be better to shop online, providing the web site stays up. Remember, if you see while you are shopping online that you are waiting in a queue, don’t leave your browser session, stay in line until you can successfully buy, otherwise, you loose your spot just like if you were in he sore.
For more information, read the rules for how to shop Kenzo x H&M on the H&M website. Below, see our top picks from the Kenzo x H&M collection. Good luck readers!
