Looks for the Kate Spade Presentation for Fall 2014 at New York Fashion Week

Kate Spade presented a very feminine collection for Fall 2014 at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week this week.  There were plenty of the design house’s trademark bows and rounded collars.    The collection was  inspired by the  Creative director Deborah Loyd’s trip to Shanghai.  That inspiration was apparent in the Chinese takeout purse featured in the collection as well as the color palette. The Kate Spade Fall/Winter ‘14 collection colors and signature structure mirrored bold origami art.  To compliment the collection, Garnier Fructis Style Celebrity Hair Stylist, Tommy Buckett created a high-ponytail look for the runway models.

Sleek, straight ponytails allowed the focus to remain on statement Kate Spade fashion pieces.  This look is easy to create at home using affordable Garnier Fructis product available at your local drugstore or Target.  Here’s how to get this easy and chic look at home:

  • Step 1: Use Fructis Marvelous Oil 5-Action Hair Elixir as an all-over smoother and to create mirror-like shine.
  • Step 2: Apply Fructis Style Power Wax Spray DISORDER onto hair, combing through for added grip. Tommy then brushed hair up into a chic ponytail.
  • Step 3: Lastly, spray Fructis Style Power Hairspray ORDER to spot-treat flyaways and lock in sleek style.

Models in the Kate Spade presentation show off their ponytail looks.

At-home tip: for a polished, sophisticated ponytail, lean your chin downward as you fasten the elastic. This ensures that hair at the nape of the neck is tight and never baggy.
