Singer and teen/tween style icon Taylor Swift was in Los Angeles last week at the Nordstrom’s store at The Americana at Brand in Glendale to promote her new collection of Keds shoes for spring.  I didn’t realize what a style icon  Taylor Swift has become for teens until I spent some shopping time with my teenage niece last week.  For teens seeking style finds, Taylor seems to have the Midas touch. My niece even buys Taylor Swift  American Greeting cards!  I have to admit, the new Taylor Keds collection of shoes is cute.  The Keds prints  feature oversized polka dots, nautical stripes with delicate bows, classic chevron witha playful scribble edge, and this season’s signature floral is a vintage take on a blooming peony.

The new collection of Taylor Swift inspired Keds is now on sale at Nordstrom’s and other retailers.  The color palette is a lively mix of dandelion, indigo, high risk red, aqua, coral and sky blue. Finishing touches include trims and laces in coordinating colors, and a special charm in one of two styles: a silverheart featuring Swift’s favorite number, 13, or a guitar pick in antiqued brass with Swift’s logo inscribed in the middle. Styles are available on Keds.com, TaylorSwift.com, Nordstrom.com and Journeys.com. All styles are $50.  The shoes already have good reviews from customers on the Nordstrom website. My personal favorite is the floral print sneaker.

Taylor Swift is not the first celebrity to include Keds into her wardrobe. Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and even Jackie Onassis all wore Keds, although they were not celeb spokespeople for the brand.
