Target to collaborate with Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) for fashion and home

Target is making headlines with their recent announcement of an affordable collection of Diane von Furstenberg fashions and home goods coming to Target stores on March 23rd.   According to Target “200 pieces spanning apparel, accessories, beauty and home,” are coming to Target this Spring ” with most items under $50.”

One of the standout pieces in the Target xDVF collaboration promises to  a low-priced version of  DVF’s iconic wrap dress.

“This is a wrap dress that is as close to the brand as you can get. It’s a wrap dress without a collar in jersey and with long sleeves. And the price is ridiculous. $50.”–  Diane von Furstenburg quoted in Vogue magazine.

I’ll be curious to see Target’s interpretation of the DVF wrap dress.  Sometimes Target does a wonderful job reproducing designer creations, while sometimes things don’t work out as well as we hope.   But when they are  good, the results can be fantastic as proven by previous collaborations like Target x Phillip Lim.

The DVF for Target collection will include over 200 items featuring archival Diane von Furstenberg prints, as well as new patterns and pieces exclusive to Target. The collection with DVF is expected to include matching mommy-and-me outfits plus activewear, loungewear, intimates and some home fashions (pillows.) Target is even touting that there will be a “made-to-order furniture starting at $300, which can be customized with one of seven different DVF for Target fabrics. ”  I’m not sure how that will look, but Target has done this before with Liberty of London prints.

Save the Date: Shop DVF at Target on March 23, 2024

The Diane von Furstenberg for Target collection debuts in most Target stores and on Target.com on March 23.  Fashionistas in New York City can shop the collection early at a public event March 15-16 at The Shed, located at 545 W 30th Street in New York City.  I’ll continue to post details on this event as we get closer to this launch event.

I’ll be shopping the Target DVF collaboration from Los Angeles on March 23, 2024.  I’ll be posting my thoughts on the quality for price once I see everything on the racks.
