Target and Neiman Marcus Declare their Partnership as Amazing, But What Is IT? Dunno

Last week I reported that unlikely retail bedfellows Neiman Marcus and Target are joining forces for a special holiday collection to be sold in both stores. This week, the two stores have released a video that claims to offer a preview of the collection. I have watched it, and here’s the link so you can check it out. The video is a” behind-the-scenes look” at the 24 CFDA designers who created exclusive product for this collection, as well as Stacia Andersen, senior vice president of merchandising for Target’s home division, and Ken Downing, Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus. I’ve watched it a few times, and I don’t feel any more enlightened about this collection. I still don’t know what it’s going to look like. But, if you watch the video, you’ll hear designer after designer telling us as consumers that it’s going to be amazing. What a #yawner. Amazing? The most over used word in the world at the moment, and what does it really mean ? Oh, it’s just amazing this collection . I’m amazed by it. You’ll be amazed by it. It’s like when Oasis’ Noel Gallagher made the point the British press that he could just use the word amazing over and over again, appear enthusiastic, and yet say absolutely nothing. That’s what this hype video it like. Designer after designer pronounces the collection to be amazing, but you don’t actually see it, and only by seeing it can you tell it it’s gonna be amazing or not, right? Stay tuned.
