WTF: Target to Partner with Neiman Marcus on a Holiday Collection
Here’s a new economic indicator that to me show the US economy is far from healthy. Luxury retailer Neiman Marcus (affectionately called Needless Mark-up by some) and Target (called by some the rich man’s Walmart) are joining forces. YES, it’s absolutely shocking but true. Here’s the scoop. The two retailers will bring together 24 of America’s most talented designers to create a limited-edition holiday collection. Beginning Dec. 1, in time for the busy holiday shopping season, the collection will be available at all Target and Neiman Marcus stores, as well as online at Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. This could be a good move for Neiman’s as I believe they do need to bring people into their stores with lower price point items.
As for Target, well, Target needs a win too as I don’t think their Shops at Target strategy was a home run. So what can consumers expect to see in this collection? It’s a pretty stunning mix of high-end brands and designers. Personally, I can’t wait to see this.
Stay tuned for more details! Remember Jason Wu has already done his Target tour of duty with mixed results.
