Target says they won’t restock their Lilly Pulitzer collection

By  |

A Tweet from @AskTarget reveals that Lilly for Target won’t be restocked.

Despite massive customer dissatisfaction with their website crash and in-store sell out of their Lilly for Target collection,Target has now said via Twitter that they won’t restock the collection. “The #LillyforTarget collection is available for a limited-time. We do not anticipate more items becoming available,” says Target via its @AskTarget account.  That’s disappointing to many customers. My advice, check your Target store in 14 days for returns.  Some of the Lilly for Target stock now on eBay for inflated prices will come back to the store if no one buys it.  For example, I bought my friend the $8.00 Lilly for Target headwrap/turban and it’s now on sale for as much as $45.00.  Just say no and don’t buy this stuff.  I ended up getting many Missoni for Target items on clearance at Target after they were returned to the retailer.

I’m not sure if this stat is correct, but I heard on GMA this morning that there are over 28,000 Lilly Pulitzer up on eBay so far. And readers of my blog report that Lilly items are showing up on Poshmark as well. It’s just so frustrating that Target did not put buying limits on this collection. They’ve put limits on collabs in the past (after Missioni) so why not with this one??

Hi Target Addict! I seen thousands of items of eBay AND Poshmark too. The 8 dollar headwrap I bought for my friend is on Poshmark for 44 bucks. I hope no one pays these inflated prices.

At the store, it just seems that the employees were doing their jobs and Target wants them to do that, not MONITOR the amount of items. SO Target gave up on policing and that’s the result massive hoarding and reselling. All I can say is they will WIsh they had monitored things when those returns come in! It’s going to be a debacle.

I figure after I found that NOTHING that I wanted (maybe a dress or a romper ) was available.. I would wait to see if anything was returned. I found this a really ridiculous display and show that Target wants to encourage people to mass purchase (and penalize those on the west coast) . I can wait or never buy those collections again. I bought 3 tanks from xhiliaration again.. that are perfect for summer layering and workouts.

After watching the website crash AGAIN with this collection, I am done trying to buy anything from their collaborations when they launch.
I would however love to go bargain hunting with you in two weeks 🙂

Yes on the bargain hunting. I have had very good luck going back to Target as the eBayers start doing their returns! See you there.

I seen the stuff on Poshmark at ridiculous price. I thought it was sopossed to be a site to get designer items at a discount! I can’t believe that they’re even allowing it!
