Vineyard Vines x Target Review: Go Buy the Original Vineyard Vines

By  |

Vineyard Vines for Target went live on the Target website about 24 hours ago and I slept through this non-event Target collaboration.   Today I went in-store to my local Target to check out what was left. There were a few items of clothing and some of the branded “housewares” and kid stuff.

To me, this latest Target collaboration with Vineyard Vines is nothing special.  If you like Vineyard Vines, your money would be better invested in buying the name brand at their stores or at VineyardVines.com than investing in the the Target collaboration, which is at best a watered down version of Vineyard Vines preppy chic.   From the looks of it, most of Vineyard Vines x Target is for sale on eBay now at very inflated prices.

Some of the women’s apparel from the Vineyard Vines x Target Collaboration.

I was originally interested in the Vineyard Vines x Target Bardot Blouses and the Rough Seas Ruffle Tie Dress, but after seeing the left over clothing from the collection at my local Target store, I’m much more interested in buying some Ted Baker pieces on sale at Bloomingdales with my hard-earned case.   That’s because there’s nothing really that special about the Vineyard Vines for Target stuff–you can get better quality garments at any Nordstrom Rack on on the Vineyard Vines website.   My favorite of the items I saw was the Hibiscus Whale Strappy V-Neck Wrap Dress in Red/Navy because the print is adorable, but there was only 1 left.

So what’s left from the Vineyard Vines x Target collection? I saw the housewares and kid stuff still on the shelves and racks at my local Target store.

The foldable beach chair with the Hibiscus Whale print was the best of the items I saw for sale at $45.00.

What do Vineyard Vines current customers think of this Target collaboration? Judging by their Twitter comments they are less than thrilled and think the Target collaboration cheapens the brand.  If you like Vineyard Vines, and can’t find what you want at Target, check out the sale at VineyardVines.com— there are lots of reasonably priced items that might sooth the disappointment of Target shoppers (either from the Target collaboration being sold out in a few hours or not of the quality expected.)
