goop Beauty & Wellness Heads to Nordstrom with a Pop-up Store

This week actress, now entrepreneur  Gwyneth Paltrow’s  goop beauty & wellness products are heading to Nordstrom stores and online with a special “pop-in” store.    Nordstrom says you’ll  find goop products from”clean beauty and skin care to kitchen essentials and mindfulness enhancers.” Hmm reminds me a bit of the another brand run by an actress turned entrepreneur, Jessica Alba’s Honest Company.

The starter kit for Juice Beauty priced at $125.00 contains travel sized versions of all the products.

Last year Ms. Paltrow launched the pricey goop beauty products at a very few stores, so bringing these to Nordstrom will greatly expand her sales channel.  In addition to beauty and wellness,  the goop team will also curate collections at Nordstrom including ” apparel, accessories, beauty and home. Each shop is merchandised as an enclosed living space, with furniture and design by 1stDibs and custom Chinoiserie wallcoverings by Fromental.”

The curated collections are displayed by themed weeks on the Nordstrom website including “Six weeks of expert advice” including Week 1 Travel picks, Week 2 Busy Weeks, Week 3 Cleaning Eating, Week 4 Fitness, Week 5 Clean Beauty, and Week 6 Centering.  Sounds intriguing and potentially profitable for the goop brand.

Goop continues to expand and if their marketing is to be believed, their expansion is very profitable. In March, goop launched their first wellness product extension: a collection of vitamins created in collaboration with four leading doctors. goop Wellness hit over $100k in sales on launch day. Recently, goop announced their first-ever wellness summit, In goop Health, and a wellness-focused content partnership with Conde Nast.
