Kohl’s Style: Power Hours and a Philosophy of Delivering Value to Customers

As you look around for gifts for Mom, and for new styles, check out Kohl’s.  I’m continually impressed by their promotions and Kohl’s cash savings. This weekend is even more impressive as they are having special a special “Power Shopping Sale” featuring some good deals for Mother’s Day gift giving.  

Despite the economic downturn, financial reports show that Kohl’s is thriving.  Every time I go to the store there are lines at the case registers.  I like what their CMO says about delivering value to customers.“Value remains critical as consumers continue to look for ways to stretch budgets further this season,” said Julie Gardner, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Kohl’s Department Stores. “By providing more opportunities to save on the brands they love, consumers can shop Kohl’s and Kohls.com with confidence, knowing they are getting the best value on summer fashion and home essentials.”

Our whole family shops at Kohl’s which has been very convenient, since we can all go to the store together.
For Mother’s Day, I’ll be paying particular attention to all the new Simply Vera and Dana Buchman styles in the store.  My Mom is very fond of both lines.  My little niece loves the Candie’s stuff and every now and then, we let her get a little of the Avril Lavigne (Abby Dawn) stuff, providing the look is age appropriate for a 9 year old.

Recently, designer Vera Wang talked about four items any woman needs to update her wardrobe.  They are:

1) Spring dress for outdoor gatherings (check the Simply Vera Brushstroke dresses)
2) Cardigan to transition looks from day to night (My pick: Simply Vera Vera Wang Chiffon-Trim   Cardigan)

One more item that I am loving right now at Kohl’s is the Lauren Conrad Colorblock Maxi Dress.  Kohl’s sent me this dress as a sample, and I have to say, I love it!  I would never have picked it for myself, so I am glad it was sent.  The colors in it are so soft with varying shades of blue.  It’s perfect for summer. The dress is sold out online, but you can still find it in stores for $44.99 on sale, reduced from $60.00.  Overally, the LC line has been full of nice surprises like this one. It’s no wonder it’s been very popular for Kohl’s.
