O’Connor forecasts that colorful gemstones, statement necklaces, large drop earrings at the Academy Awards on Sunday.

As we go into this year’s Oscars, here are Mr. O’Connor’s red carpet trend predictions:

Edgy Earrings
Ear cuffs and climbers are all the rage on the red carpet. For the Oscars, we’ll see them taken to another level with major diamonds and spectacular designs.

  • Dena Kemp crafted a snake ear cuff with over 2 carats of diamonds, set in 18k gold. This would look stunning on Rosamund Pike.
  • Susan Eisen showcases a hand-fabricated pair of ear climbers made with 3 carats of diamonds, set in 14k recycled white gold. Priced at $17,800, these earrings are the perfect fit for fashion’s “It Girl” Felicity Jones.
  • Elyse Fine Jewelers designed a single platinum and diamond ear cuff with 37 round brilliant diamonds, totaling over 3 carats. This bold earring is meant to be worn with their complementing 2 carat white diamond stud. The price for the set is $50,000. We envision a beauty like Marion Cotillard wearing this design.
  • Mastoloni reimagines the traditional pearl earrings with its “Signature Collection” pave link design, featuring Tahitian pearls and over 2 carats of brilliant cut white diamonds, set in 18k white gold. Priced at $15,000 these would look spectacular on Patricia Arquette.

Colorful Gemstones
The right colored gemstones can quickly turn an “LBD” into a major red carpet moment.

  • Earrings by Takat are not for the faint of heart. After all, they are crafted with some of the best and largest emeralds. The designer’s show stopping drops feature over 39 carats of diamonds and emeralds, set in 18k white gold. Priced at over $1 million, this earrings are ideal for Oscar nominee Julianne Moore.
  • John Ford‘s black opal necklace is the epitome of rarity and design. It features a rare 139.11 carat Lightening Ridge black opal accented by 5.30 carats of round brilliant cut and marquise diamonds, set in 18k yellow gold. A classic beauty like Reese Witherspoonwould look breathtaking in this $750,000 design.
  • KALLATI‘s ring from their “True Couture Collection” features a 12.50 carat center tanzanite surrounded with brilliant white diamonds, set in 14k white gold. Priced at $59,000, this bauble would look gorgeous on Laura Dern.

Classic White Diamonds
The Leo Diamond by Leo Schachter takes old Hollywood glamour to new heights with their “Elongated Tower” earrings, featuring 8.60 carats of white diamonds, set in 18k white gold and priced at $130,000. These diamonds are special because they are the first ones to be certified as visibly brighter by and independent source. The fire, brilliance and scintillation of these diamonds are second to none…which is the reason why nominee Keira Knightley should wear them!

LVE for Forevermark from Schachter & Co, a division of Leo Schachter, created a work of art with its sleek 13.46 carat diamond cuff bangle, priced at $80,000. These are beautiful hand crafted and perfectly polished ideal cut hearts and arrow diamonds set in a patented iconic design. Notice the thread that weaves between these brilliant Forevermark diamonds, representing life’s journey – live love. Less than one percent of the world’s diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond. Emma Stone would know how to wear this bracelet well on the red carpet.

Shaftel Diamonds’ elegant and opulent 30-carat white diamond bracelet set in platinum will make any celebrity stand out from the crowd. Priced at $100,00, this design would sparkle on performer Jennifer Hudson.
