Express Launches ‘Edition’ a Luxury Capsule Collection

By  |

Tagging onto the success of the Balmain for H&M shopping frenzy, EXPRESS is a launching a luxury capsule collection fronted by top models Suki Waterhouse and Magdalena Frackowiak.  The high-end capsule collection from EXPRESS  will be called “Edition.”   According to Express ” Edition’ is a mix of cool sophistication and street style with an emphasis on luxury fabrics, elevated techniques and a sharpened attention to detail.”   Like H&M’s designer collabs, the collection is only available at select stores.  There’s plenty of skinny jeans, biker jackets, MAJE like guipure lace dresses, and leather pants.  Prices range from $48-$498 for apparel pieces, and  $20-$298 for accessories.  With that type of pricing, I have to wonder if EXPRESS Edition will be successful.  You can get name brand designers for those prices at The OutNet and Net-a-Porter on their sales, so this is going to be a tough sell in my opinion.  How many of you will shop for luxury at EXPRESS versus luxury name brand designers at big retailer’s sales like Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus?
