COACH designer Reed Krakoff coming to Kohl’s for Spring

By  |

Kohl’s has announced a new collection of fashion and handbags from the former COACH handbag designer Reed Krakoff coming to their stores for Spring 2016. Above are some of the initial garments and totes from the collection. Kohl’s reports everything will be under $129.00, with prices starting at $15.00.  According to Kohl’s “the new REED collection will additionally include American sportswear-inspired apparel, embracing unexpected color-blocking, statement stripes and novelty fabric and prints. ” I’m trying to reserve judgement on this collection, but it’s not the sleek, sophisticated look of Reed Krakoff that I’ve seen Mrs. Obama wear.

One of the more fitted pieces: the REED Peony dress with matching bag.

The REED for Kohl’s dresses are nothing like the designer’s garments currently on sale at Saks  Off Fifth or his handbags and apparel now on sale at The Real Real .   I know it’s a collection for Kohl’s but where is just a bit of the tailoring that Krakoff first became known for? These dresses with geometric designs have very little shape.    It will be interesting to see what the garments really look like when they hit the racks in Spring 2016.  What do you think readers?

Update: This collection arrived in stores April 21, 2016.  Read my review of REED for Kohl’s.
