Fashion Week: Desigual Fall 2015 Celebrates Creativity
It’s true literally and figuratively: Desigual bought the warmth to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for Fall 2015. Colorful, energetic and above all positive the Desigual show is always a departure from the spartan runways and grim faces of most runway models at New York Fashion Week. With this collection, Desigual and Monsieur Christian Lacroix decided to celebrate the world of creativity. For Fall 2015, Desigual showed a collection featuring geometric motifs in black and white, multi-colored cardigans with a Scandinavian feel and structured dresses dipped in watercolors. There were also trademark Desigual floral skirts in printed tulle and cocoon coats in true Lacroix style. The result was an eclectic and sophisticated mix that is like a fashion wake up call amid the traditional black, greys and reds on the Fall 2015 runways.
The show featured smiling models and up tempo music. Desigual’s current brand ambassador, model Chantelle Winnie, walked the runway along with supermodel, Behati Prinsloo. The collection was inspired by the creative process of putting a collection together and is a tribute to what happens in the design atelier. Abstract paintings, photographs of Africa, a voyage to northern Europe and a landscape full of flowers are the root of the design inspiration: One that is full of creativity and originality.
