Fashion Week Preview: Ports 1961 and Web Shows

Pictured: A preview from designer Tia Cibani Ports 1961 Collection

NY Fashion Week is just a few days away. The first model is getting ready to step on out the runway and the first snow is about the fall. Hopefully, Fashion Week can survive the blizzard.
The Ports 1961 show will kick-off the week on Thursday. Above is a preview sketch from designer, Tia Cibani. I love her quote, “My collection is inspired by the relationship between discovery and invention.’ Now that is a relationship I’d like to have. The soft layers and caplet look of this coat, with matching shirt, skirt and leggings looks comfortable and warm. Given the weather situation, I’m even lusting for the little gray cap.

I hope the show goes on as planned, because I want to see more! You can enjoy the show from the comfort of home via Vogue. Save the date: Ports 1961 (Thursday, February 11, 3 PM ET, noon PST) The show will be broadcast on http://Vogue.com

To find deals on Ports 1961, check the Gilt Groupe, Barney’s and of course, Loehmann’s.

Some of the designers have a great plan B, in case of bad weather, they will be streaming their shows live on the Internet.
