Giambattista Valli x H&M Collection Preview
H&M has announced that their next designer collection with be with Giambattista Valli. The collection of romantic dresses and accessories was previewed yesterday the Cannes AmFar Gala with celebrities modeling the gowns. The full collection won’t be in H&M stores until Nov. 7th, 2019. However, for the first time, H&M will launch an exclusive “pre-drop” of one of their designer collections. On Saturday, May 25th, a few pieces from the the Giambattista Valli x H&M collection will go on sale on the H&M website at 10:00 am EST and 7:00 am PST. The pre-drop will also be available at the H&M flagship store in the New York City at 48th street and 5th avenue. The full collection will go on sale at 12 select stores in November. This is a great marketing idea from H&M which will whet fashion lover’s appetite for the forthcoming collection and bring in shoppers over the Memorial Day weekend.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the H&M website will crash and have delays tomorrow when this collection comes online. So, shoppers will have to be patient to get into the line shop whether they are online and in stores.
What can shoppers expect from the “pre-drop” sale. According to the designer, the romantic tulle gowns will be on sale. “The gowns are the appetizer, indeed. They will be in the first drop released as the collection launches,” notes Giambattista Valli. Only 6 pieces from the collection will go on the May sale, including a striking waist belt, bedazzled sandals and a tiara with a bow.
Prices for the pre-drop of the collection will range from $17.99 to $649 US. The November launch of the collection will feature dresses, jackets, riding coats and cargo pants to sweatshirts, sunglasses.
Are you planning to shop the collection at H&M tomorrow? If so, what’s on your pick list? I plan to get up early and shop online, with an eye to get a few of the accessories and the organza t-shirt. I don’t think I would have the occasion to wear any of the gowns.
