Next week the 80 year old lingerie line ‘Scandale Paris’ will find a new home at select Target stores and on Target.com.  Today in New York, Halle Berry announced that the famous  ‘Scandale Paris’ brand will launch a lower priced version on Oct. 27th at Target stores.  Ms. Berry showed an Illusion Demi bra in metallic black from the ‘Scandale Paris’ collection underneath her Nina Ricci top at the event. Target will sell the  a 10 piece collection of the lingerie at prices ranging from $7.00 to $18.00.

Ms. Berry is not only the brand ambassador for the new budget line, but is an investor in  ‘Scandale Paris.’   She owns 50% of the French company.   Ms. Berry discovered the French label, founded in 1932, while shopping with her French husband Oliver Martinez.  In the 1930’s Scandale was an innovator in women’s lingerie making a girdle that was so lightweight (compared to the undergarments of the day) that the owner’s assistant exclaimed, ‘C’est un scandale!’   And thus the lingerie’s name was born.  The  Scandale lingerie has been sold previously in Europe and on many online sites like Amazon.

Why did Ms. Berry decide to invest in lingerie at this point in her career? Well, it’s  a wardrobe staple most women need.  “Most women know that what you put under your clothes is the first step in making yourself feel good about yourself,” notes the actress.

Look for the Scandale Paris lingerie at Target next week. I’ll be interested to see what the quality of this lingerie is.  Especially since Scandale lingerie is already very affordably priced on Amazon, at $16.200 for a  Scandale bra that was originally over $50.00.
