Heads-up Los Angeles.  Madonna is coming to Macy’s.  Well, not the Material Girl herself, but some of her show costumes.  The costumes tie into the Madonna clothing collection sold at Macy’s store.  If you’re in the LA area, save the date to stop by Macy’s Century City location in Los Angeles on Thursday, April 25th.  If you’re in Los Angeles, allow plenty of time to get the Beverly Hills adjacent Macy’s Century City as I expect traffic may be fierce (as is usually is!)

According to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) Madonna’s costumes will only be on display for two hours, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that night in the Material Girl shop.  Look for  the Jean Paul Gaultier-designed corsets from the 1990 “Blonde Ambition” concert tour.  Also on display will be the Jean Harlow styled beaded white Bob Mackie gown  Madonna wore to the Oscars/1991 Academy Awards, along with a a fox fur stole and Michael Jackson.

“The pop-up exhibit at Macy’s perfectly exemplifies the inspiration and spirit of the Material Girl line and will give my fans a great opportunity to see the evolution of my style over the years,” Madonna told WWD.

The exhibit is designed to draw consumers into Macy’s stores to see the Material Girl fashion collection,  currently selling at 600 Macy’s stores.  Ironically, most of the teenagers who can wear the junior sized collection may not have been born at the time Madonna wore some of these costumes.
