Comedian and Bridesmaid star Melissa McCarthy has never been called shy.  Recently ,in an interview with Redbook, she revealed that major designers refused to dress her for award shows–even the Oscars.  “Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me,” Ms. McCarthy told Redbook for their July Issue. “I asked five or six designers — very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people — and they all said no.”  Kelly Osbourne had the same experience when she was fuller figured, and talked about it at last year’s Lucky Fabb conference.  So what’s a girl to do? Kelly is working on her own clothing line, and now Ms. McCarthy has also announced plans to do a plus sized line.   Ms. McCarthy, who was trained in clothing & textile ,  is working with designer Daniella Pearl to create the line.  The line will be called “Pearl” and we’ll post details as they become available.

Update:  Melissa’s fashion line is now on sale at HSN.    The line is called Melissa McCarthy Seven7.
