Don’t you just wish Spring would hurry up and get here? Even Fall would be good right now.  It’s freezing around most of the world and another big snowstorm is scheduled to hit New York City on Feb.10th, just in time to put a little chill on New York Fashion Week.  I don’t know if I can leave the safe cocoon of Los Angeles and venture into the New York Winter.  Just when I wish winter would disappear, amazing New Zealand designer  Rebecca Taylor sent over a sketch from her Fall collection as a welcome distraction.  So what is Ms. Taylor thinking of for inspiration?  It sounds like a cross between Stevie Nicks’ Rihanna and Paris.   “Fall 2011 is inspired by dreamy illusive paintings, blurred images and sparkling lights, conjuring images of dimly lit nights in the chic Parisian night clubs of the 70’s.,” notes Ms. Taylor. ” Dresses in luscious prints revealed beneath rich, smokey colored shearlings, found beading and lace patched over delicate printed dresses, lace appliqués on silk tees under shimmering lurex sweaters, cocooning from the cold and ready to set forth on adventures in the city.”

The great thing about Rebecca Taylor’s show at Fashion Week is that you don’t have to fly to New York to see it.   The entire show will be live streaming on the Internet at www.RebeccaTaylor.com on Friday, February 11th, 2 p.m. EST/11:00 a.m. PST.  So take a little trip to New York Fashion Week, free of charge, thanks to the magic of the Internet.
