The Recessionista Falls into Kohl’s Fall Fashions

Yesterday, with coupons in hand and high hopes for fashion savings, I set off on my Labor Day sale shopping. Although I intended to score mostly summer clearance items, I literally fell into Fall Fashions at Kohl’s. Armed with my trusty Labor Day savings pass, I went into my local store in search of my favorite, Simply Vera. As originally reported on my Labor Day sales list the Kohl’s sale includes 30-50% Off Entire Stock of Simply Vera Vera Wang Collection. This includes the new Fall stuff. Plus, through Labor Day, today (Sept. 7), you save an EXTRA 15% when you shop with promo code: SEPTSAVE or print this shopping pass and save in store. Vera has done it again with another great Fall collection. There are comfortable jersey dresses for work or social outings, colorful Henley tops with tulle trim and reptile print shirts and jackets. It’s a bargainista bonanza. That’s because everything is on sale plus you can use your coupon for extra savings.
Here are some of the pieces I fell for:

Pictured: Simply Vera Anorak Jacket, reptile print, sale price $46.99

Pictured: A feminine bow and chiffon tulle like trim add the Vera chic touch to a cotton Henley top. Reduced from $40.00 to $27.99.

Pictured: Vera’s updated Little Black Dress. The pleat in the front gives it an elegant drape and the rouching on the short sleeves is beautiful. Reduced to $39.99. This dress is mixed-media, meaning one fabric is used for the body of the dress and another is used for the sleeves.

Pictured: My favorite lightweight travel bag, the Simply Vera Medium Hobo in Black. These are easy to carry and fit comfortably under the arm.

Pictured: This Vera Coated Satchel for $41.40 reminds me of a much higher priced luxury brand bag.

Pictured: Much of the Simply Vera high-end jewelry is 2 for 1 priced today. I have my eye of this purple floral set. I’m counting my pennies to see if I should commit this splurge. I love the delicate lavender flowers.

Beyond the Simply Vera collection, there were other great fashion savings in the store. To my surprise the Apt. 9 line had some great looks. The new Dana Buchman fall line was also in and on sale. Her line features some great cheetah, leopard and animal print looks. There is also a gorgeous faux snakeskin bag in the collection. Below are some of my picks.

Pictured: Apt. 9 open black knit wrap cardigan. In store for $19.99!
Pictured: Dana Buchman Trench Coat reduced from $72.00 to $43.20

Pictured: Dana Buchman Cheetah Surplus Bodice Top, on sale for $29.99.

Pictured: The new Dana Buchman hobo handbags. These look luxurious and rich, but are well under $100.00 US. The current sale price is $48.00.

To sum it up, the Fall Fashions at Kohl’s are easy on the eye and your wallet. The quality + price equation equals real fashion value here. And if you shop today, you save well beyond the sale price with the additional coupons. How good is that?

    oooh – good for you!
I didn't shop sales this weekend – hubby is out of town – mom is working – I DO NOT shop with children.
But I DO like the Vera collection at Kohl's.

Great post! I can hardly wait until two new Kohl's open near me – one near where I live and one down the street from where I work -because there currently aren't any stores in my area. Both Kohl's are taking over former Mervyn's stores, and should hopefully be open by the end of this month – yippee!!
