The highly anticipated SJP collection will debut exclusively at selected Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com on February 28

Playing off her fame as non-budget fashionista Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker is readying to launch two fashion related enterprises.   Her line of SJP shoes is set to launch at Nordstroms on Feb. 28th.  And now Ms. Parker has announced plans to launch a membership based jewelry site to offer costume jewelry curated by the actress.

Our spies tell us that the online jewelry site,  WeTheAdorned.com, will be  a membership only e-commerce platform, offering exclusive designer jewelry at competitive price points with pieces “curated” by SJP.   No jewelry is yet available for sale, but prospective customers are invited to sign up for e-mail alerts for exclusive collections coming soon from jewelry designers like Pamela Love, Erickson Beamon, Fenton, Lizzie Fortunato and others to be announced, curated by Sarah Jessica Parker. But wait, there’s more.  WeTheAdorned will offer “limited edition” collections.   That means, every piece of jewelry will be exclusive to WeTheAdorned, numbered, never to be sold again. For those who sign-up to be  Premium members, the site will offer jewelry    ” at price points unavailable anywhere else. ” Just like a limited edition H&M collection, the message to consumers  is that you will have to buy quick, or pieces will sell out and not be restocked.

This is an interesting concept.  What do you think? Personally, I don’t like paying a subscription fee  just to be able to shop for anything.  I’ll be very interested to see what the jewelry on WeTheAdorned looks like.  The site will be up and running for Spring 2014.

As for the SJP shoes, I’ll be interested to see how comfortable the shoes are.  Ms. Parker was the one who said that she is migrating to better made and more comfortable shoes.  She explained to Net-a-Porter’s new online magazine:

“For ten or so years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained. But then I did I Don’t Know How She Does It, and I was very thoughtful about my whole wardrobe and said, you know, [Kate Reddy] could not afford really good footwear. So I got [lower priced] shoes and the bottoms weren’t leather, they were plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle. I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there.’ The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost. It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, ‘You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop – and don’t put cheap shoes on us?’

Considering that Sarah Jessica Parker actually had the experience of altering her foot by wearing some shoes, it will be very interesting to see what the SJP Shoe Collection looks like and feels like. The SJP collection will debut exclusively at selected Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com on February 28 with Italian-made shoes and other wardrobe must-haves designed by actress and style icon Sarah Jessica Parker.

This isn’t the actress who played fashion lover Carrie Bradshaw’s first foray into fashion merchandising.  Remember her BITTEN clothing line? There’s still plenty of that for sale on eBay at cut rate prices.
