The runways are alive with fashion for the next season, Spring/Summer 2013.  But the season that is here and now is Fall/Winter 2013. What are you looking to wear now? That’s the question many of my readers are asking.  Here’s what The Recessionista sees for Fall trends.

Dress up your fall wardrobe with Oxblood, it’s the new deeper shade of red.
Fall 2012 is full of this deep, more than Burgundy red shade. It’s great for coats, dresses or turtlenecks.
Gray is the new black
Pearl gray turtlenecks, dresses and scarves are perfect for fall.  They lighten up your wardrobe but are not too somber, after all,, you want to look upbeat, and black may be too limiting.  Gray literally sheds a bit of light. Dress it up with a strand of pearls for a classic look.

There’s no end to the lace trend
Lace overlay dresses and tops , popularize by Kate Middleton on her tour of Canada last year are still in vogue.  For fall, the lace trend looks great in black, navy, evergreen and red.  Think Kate Middleton and know that with a look like that, it can’t be bad.
A little plaid is not mad
Use plaid to accent your basic pieces, a plaid scarf or bag can liven up the fall doldrums.  Add a plaid Burberry (check for deals on eBay) for a lux look.
Stay tuned for more fall tips as the season evolves and the weather changes.  What’s on your mind reader?
