Topshop’s Holiday Campaign for 2016 offers holiday dressing without the one-size-fits-all approach

Topshop has rolled out their holiday fashion collection with and an advertising campaign featuring some of fashion’s rising stars. This isn’t the tale of Thomas Burberry (Burberry’s holiday campaign based on the life of their founder),  it’s the tale of mass market commercialism at its finest.  Kate Moss’ sister Lottie is one of the campaign’s stars along with Jing Wen, Kiki Willems, Cami Morrone, Londone Myers, Caitie Greene, Damaris Goddrie, Marjan Jonkman, and Stella Maxwell.  The campaign, and the clothes, are at once traditional and individualistic–there’s nothing too advant garde here and everything is reasonably priced (in contrast to H&M’s Kenzo collection.)

Topshop’s campaign is designed to emphasize individual style.   According to Topshop Creative Director Kate Phelan, “This season is about the individual spirit of a woman—she no longer wants to be part of a tribe, she has her own style.”  Fittingly, the campaign features these individual styles:

The London Girl – Channel British eclecticism this party season by layering up evening dresses with a classic white shirt or a pretty ruffled knit. I like the Victorian touches in this one, like the gorgeous floral booties.

The Pretty Girl Ruffles, lace and glitzy embellishment set the tone for the pretty girl, whose look is all about romance and femininity. Put the Polar Bear Cocoon Coat on your watch list, because it looks stunning (its not available yet, but you can sign up to get an alert when it is in stock.)  If you missed the velvet Balmain dresses at H&M last year, you’ll love these lower priced velvet dresses in green and black from Topshop. This is my personal favorite of the collections in this campaign.  After all , if you’re going to dress up for the holidays, don’t you want to be the pretty girl?

The Grunge Girl – This look is all about high-low dressing, so consider styling a spidery lace dress with an over sized hoodie or mixing a well-worn rock tee with a long kilt and chunky boots.

The Urban Girl – This set of looks has a tomboy feel and elevates  sportswear for evening with minimalist sandal.  This is my lest favorite of the looks, holiday doesn’t scream hoodie to me. (look for some Ivy Park thrown in here. )

The Fashion Girl Effortlessly styled for the office with simple jersey and a pair of tailored wide leg trousers.

In addition to the individual styles, Topshop also has a collection of 20 fashionable gifts for the holiday.

See below for our favorites from the Topshop Holiday Styles for this season.  I love their faux furs, vintage styled dresses and accessories!
