Product Review: LORAC Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow Palette Make-up
Recently, LORAC Cosmetics sent me their Gold Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette for review and evaluation. The LORAC Unzipped Palette includes 10 rich shimmering and matte shadows. Many consider this particular kit a competitor to Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette because both kits share the “rose-gold” color palette. The LORAC kit comes with a “Behind the Scenes Eye Primer” (in a convenient travel size) to help ensure that the eye make-up won’t budge after you apply it. The kit retails for $42.00 US and is sold at Ulta, Nordstrom, HSN, Kohl’s and Amazon.
The LORAC Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow kit is made up of 10 different eye shadow colors. We love that none of the colors are heavy or glittery.

UNINHIBITED (Shimmer)

Both my niece and I took the time to try out the LORAC Unzipped Palette and the primer included in the kit. Here’s our honest feedback on the pros and cons for the eye shadow palette.
The Pros: The colors are light and add a sophisticated, classy look to the eyes. There is nothing heavy handed in this set. The Undressed color is very pigmented and shows up very well, giving the eyes a nice open look. The Undressed color also blends well with the other colors. The Unlocked and Uninhibited colors are also a good substitute for highlighter for not just the inner corners of the eye, but also for the nose, the check bones and around the brow bone. The Unwind and the Undeniable and darker colors and are good for contour.
Our favorite color for accents is the Unpredictable with its orange, pink, gold hints. Unlocked and Uninhibited add a nice bit of shine without being overpowering.
The Cons: The problem is, as with a lot of gold colors, they are not very pigmented, so you’ll have to do several coats of make-up application. Particular colors like “Uninhibited” and “Unpredictable” may not show up with just a one layer of application, especially if you don’t use the primer that comes with the package. The biggest issue we had with the kit was the looseness of the powder, especially with the Unpredictable. Be sure to use the primer that comes with the kit to help the powder stay where you put it.
For mascara, we tried the LORAC PRO Lash Pomade Mascara. The mascara works well with the LORAC Unzipped Shadows. The LORAC PRO Lash Pomade Mascara applicator really works to separate the lashes, and puts just a bit of space between the lashes (see picture above.)
Overall, we really liked the LORAC Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow Kit. We loved the rose-gold tones and the understated look it delivers. The look is particularly good looking for summer, because the shades are not too dark or metallic, they will go will summer pastels and light prints.
