First Look: Jean Paul Gaultier for Target in Stores March 7

Its kind of hard to focus on what Target is doing after attending shows at NY Fashion Week. My eyes are still dazed from Italian wool crepes, Christian Siriano’s draping and Milly’s prints. But its worth reporting that pictures of the new Jean Paul Gaultier collection for Target have been posted to the Target press room and are appearing on blogs today. There are tattoo leggings, tattoo swimsuits, rock star-like T-shirts, plus some floral dresses and a leather jacket. People Magazine also has an early set of snaps on the collection. I’ll reserve judgement until I see the quality and the fit on the racks in-store. The most promising piece to me looks like the rolled collar floral dress (maybe also the trench.)

Pictured: If the quality of this garment’s material is good, this JPG Strapless Dress in Black $59.99 or its alternate Lingerie Dot Dress in Green/Black $34.99 (pictured above under the trench) could be a winner.
Pictured: A more typical JGP look, Leather Moto Jacket in Brown/Red $199.99, Tank Dress in Red $34.99 Dress Also available in Navy/Cream

Its a big wait and see. What do you think? I see shades of McQ’s 80s look here.
