Pantene AgeDefy Thickening Serum

There are hundreds of products on the market claiming to help grow hair or thicken hair.   That’s because many of us are looking for a way to literally make the most of hair that we have, without spending a fortune on extensions or other additives. If you’re looking for an  effective and inexpensive way to give your hair a boost, then you’ll want to check out Pantene AgeDefy Thickening Serum. This product retails for under $20.00 and it really does work.   Last fall, Pantene reps gifted me with several new hair products to try.  I’m still evaluating many of them, but this Thickening Serum is one I can absolutely recommend.   This product is a light, clear serum that you apply to wet hair prior to drying.    Frankly, it’s amazing what this stuff does, it really gives your hair a boost and volumizes it.  Allure Magazine voted this hair thickening product  one of the Best of Beauty Breakthroughs 2012.  From my personal experience, I can see why.
Since college, when I lost some hair due to stress, I’ve  had baby fine hair.   I’ve tried a lot of different products in an attempt to give the hair I have a styling boost.   This Pantene Thickening Serum works.   One of the ingredients in the product is a bit surprising: caffeine.  You know, caffeine,  the stuff I love in my morning coffee.  So I did some research and it turns out that caffeine had been shown to inhibit hair loss. In 2007, the International Journal of Dermatology published favorable research results on the use of caffeine and hair growth.  Who would’ve thought caffeine applied on the scalp would help hair look thicker and maybe in time strengthen it? Not me.   The recommended use of the Pantene Thickening Product is to apply 15 pumps on your scalp.  You have to use it as directed for best results.

Check the reviews of the Pantene Serumand Amazon.com.  I’m not the only user of this product who has used it with good results.  Most of the reviewers noticed a positive  improvement resulting in the appearance of thicker hair.  Although Pantene gave me a complimentary sample of their thickening serum, I’ll be buying this product when  my sample runs out.  I look forward to seeing what the long term results will be of using this.  The Pantene literature notes that it takes 14 plus days to see best results, so you have to be a bit patient.  I felt I saw results in the first few days of use.

My only compliant about the product is that it is lightly scented.  I would like it even better if it was fragrance free.  Have any of you tried this one?  If you are concerned about your hair looking thin, or you just want to give you hair a bit more volume, you might want to check this one out.

Note: This is not a sponsored post and I am not compensated by Pantene (Procter & Gamble) for reviewing this product.
