Earlier this summer Foster Grant asked me to evaluate their stylish sunglasses. Of course I grimaced at the mere thought.  It sounded like horrible, back breaking work, but I thought hey someone needs to step up to this sun glass challenge.  In the summer, and beyond, I am a big advocate of using sunglasses as a fashion accessory.  I had a lot of fun last week at BlogHer sporting my Foster Grants around New York City. Did you know that in 1929, Sam Foster was the creator of the glasses to shield eyes from the sun? Today, you can buy several pairs for cheap at your favorite retailer or discounter or on  www.fostergrant.com. I call it the “made in the shade” look. In California, I stock up on sunglasses year round to give various pieces different looks. I have everything from my Gucci (bought at auction for a discount) Jackie O, “do not disturb” glasses to my vintage shades. For me, the sunglasses are like mirrors of my soul. And, did I add, they make a stunning head band at times?  I am rather found of wearing them on top of my head. I wear them perched there, almost as much as I wear them to shield my eyes. Whether you are heading for a day at the beach or cocktails with the girls, a stylish pair of sunglasses is a summer essential.

I was sent four pairs of Foster Grants for evaluation: Madonna, Honey, Vassar and Milan.I found them all to be fabuless, as they provide style, but retail for less than $30.00.  My favorite style, to my own surprise, was the Honey Glasses.  I love hiding behind them 🙂

So what do you think readers?  Which pair would you like to try? I’m asking for a reason.  I am giving away the Vassar sunglasses and the Milan sunglasses.  Here’s what you need to do to win. Leave a comment here on the blog by August 25th about what style icon or celebrity the  pair of glasses you want to win remind you of.  Leave your email address with your comment like so, so we can find you to let you know if you win: raquelwelch at fostergrant dot com.
