Peter Pilotto for Target Lookbook & Preview
Tonight we got the opportunity to preview Target’s upcoming Peter Pilotto collaboration. So how does the budget collection from the up and coming British brand look? First the good new.” There were lots of really pretty prints. The silhouettes were very youthful and trendy,” says The Fabulous Report owner Lorna Solano. There were printed rompers, a sleeveless dress with (tulle) and some cool shorts. Now for the bad news, the sizing looks best suited to teens or juniors like many previous Target Go Collections. This collection seems to run smaller than Phillip Lim for Target. The Lim collection for Target was Misses sized and a bit more sophisticated. This is a young collection that screams Spring with bright colors.
In addition to the colorful dresses, shirts and tops there are rash guards, swim cover-up and great looking totes. The prints are really stunning.
I hope the final finished garments look as good in mass production, since what we saw tonight was press samples. The quality of the Phillip Lim for Target 3.1 collection is a tough act to follow. That was really a great budget collection.
With this collection, for the first time, a Target collection will be sold globally via Net-a-Porter. Customers outside the US will now be able to buy the clothes, on Net-a-Porter at the Target prices. This may cut-out the eBay channel if there is enough quantity for shoppers. The collection will be on sale on Feb. 9, 2014. To see more of the collection, check out scenes from Target’s celebrity launch party during New York Fashion Week.
