Erdem for H&M Sells Out Despite Website Crash: Now it’s on eBay

Like so many of my readers, I woke up early on Nov. 2 ( 5 am PST) to shop the Erdem x H&M collection. It was no surprise that the H&M website crashed shortly after the collection went on sale. The surprise for me was that the H&M website rebounded so quickly after I refreshed my browser. I was able to get in to shop and get just about everything I wanted from the collection. But shortly after the site came back online, no surprise, the collection sold-out. Today, Nov 3rd, almost 2,000 pieces from the collection are on sale on eBay at inflated prices.

That’s no surprise. What is a surprise is that there aren’t a lot of bids on the Erdem x H&M stuff on eBay. At least not yet. What will happen if the eBay sellers don’t get the bids they want? Or at least a few offers. You don’t have to be psychic to know that there will a fair number of returns on Nov. 8, 2017 at H&M stores around the globe. Some of you have written to ask how you might still get a piece of the Erdem x H&M collection?

My immediate advice is keep checking the H&M website as there is a bit of restocking happening. A few pieces are still on sale at the H&M price. H&M has said that returns they receive on Nov 8th, will be posted on their website. After Nov. 8th, I believe all sales will be final, meaning you may not be able to return the item to H&M if it does’t fit.

My second piece of advice is check the H&M stores this weekend and early next week as a few returns start to trickle in. And finally, look for some Erdem replicas on sale now at H&M that might give you a taste of the embellished florals in the collection.

Finally, if you get a good price on a piece on eBay, that’s an option. I’ll let you know when I receive my Erdem x H&M order about the quality and fit. That can help you decide on whether you want to purchase on eBay.

Did any of you shop in store? How was the experience? I frankly couldn’t face the bad behavior of the other shoppers and the long lines so I skipped this one.
