Actress Eva Longoria has updated her Home collection for JCPenney for the upcoming holiday season. I had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Longoria and get an inside look at the new bedding sets, shower curtains, bath rugs and towels in her collection.  The collection has a luxury look with soothing lavenders and prints inspired by Ms. Longoria’s travels.  The shower curtains in the collection are an affordable way for consumers to update their bathrooms without doing expensive renovations.  Attractive  decorative pillows have also been added to add “pops of color” to existing furniture.

In reality, Eva Longoria bears little resemblance to the character of Gabby that she played so well on TV’s Desperate Housewives.  She’s proud to talk about the fact that she started sewing because she couldn’t afford curtains.   She told me, ” I’m super domestic, even though I know it doesn’t look like it. I always want to make sure my house is a home.” And she is passionate about how consumers can make their home environment look and feel great with minimal investment.  Two new bedding sets named after her nieces, Briella and Bethany have been added to the Eva Longoria Home collection at JCPenney. Coordinating bath sets for the existing Adana (pictured above) and the Solana bedding sets have also been added to the home line for Fall 2016.  The new bedding, towels, bath rugs, curtains and shower curtains are already on sale in JCPenney stores and on the retailer’s website.

Why is the actress so interested in beautifying the bath area? “With the holidays coming up, the bath is really my retreat, ” she told me. “My whole inspiration for the bathroom was to make it a retreat, to make it spa like. The bath should be this amazing, rejuvenating getaway. ”

The Adana collection is deep lavender and the Briella bedding has soothing blues and patterns inspired by Ms. Longoria’s trips to India.

My favorite bedding set from the collection: Eva Longoria Home Adana 4-pc. Comforter Set.

“You can give a face lift to a bedroom, just by changing the bedding. It completely changes the bedroom, ” she told me.  “And the same thing for your bathroom, if you put up a new shower curtain, it can feel like the bathroom is more open and make it look bigger.”

Ms. Longoria is a wealth of information about ” super simple things” you can do to easily update the home using pieces from  within her JCPenney home collection to refresh your decor.  Decorative pillows have been added to the collection for the holidays–these are great to add to a solid color couch to add color to a room. For the holidays, you can add festive colors and scented candles to make a room more inviting.  She also recommends adding easy thing like “fresh flowers and candles”

What’s next for Eva Longoria Home? Ms. Longoria told me she has a third niece and will be doing another bedding collection named after her. After all Briella and Bethany can’t have the monopoly on bedding by Eva Longoria Home.
