Hunter for Target Women’s Waterproof Rain Boots DELAYED

By  |

If you ask any consumer getting ready to shop the Hunter x Target collaboration tomorrow, they will probably tell you that the item they most want to buy are the Hunter for Target Tall Waterproof Rain Boots.   In a move that’s hard to understand, the night before the big launch, Target has announced on their website and social media that the Hunter for Target Waterproof Rain Boots will not be available on April 14, 2018.  The official words is that the boots are “coming soon.”

Hunter x Target Tall Boots have been announced as delayed at Target.

An epic fail: Hunter x Target Tall Boots have been announced as delayed at Target.

Since this was the most sought after items with the Hunter x Target collection, this may result in a poor turnout to for the Hunter for Target collaboration tomorrow, April 14, in Target stores.  What a debacle for Target–how could this happen?  You would think this would be the one item that Target had ready in advance of their launch with Target.   How could Target hype this product and it’s $40.00 price tag without assuring available inventory?

Here’s what Target has on the Bullseye View Blog  (some might now call it the Bull Sh#t Blog)  :

For guests eyeing the women’s tall rain boots, unfortunately they are delayed and won’t be available in stores or on Target.com when the collection launches. We apologize for any disappointment and we’ll share more information when we can. In the meantime, get ready to shop more than 300 items across this limited-edition lifestyle collection, including other styles of women’s footwear.

Translation, hey shoppers, be sure to buy the items that Hunter is not known for and that were made up just to drive Target sales!  This could be considered a retail “bait and switch.”

The outcry on social media has already begun, with consumers thinking something is a bit “shady.”

HunterxTarget boots unavailable.

Social Media users are calling Target out about their announcement of the HunterxTarget boots being unavailable for the launch date.

My take on this– HunterxTarget is probably not all that.  I would look for Hunter boots on sale at Nordstrom Rack or at the retail price at Nordstrom.   Hunter Boots  and Outwear are also on sale now at SHOPBOP (until April 14, you can save 25% on them with code EVENT18) They won’t be the $40.00 Target price, but they will be available and of the quality Hunter is known for.

PS–even eBay has discounted original Hunter Tall Boots on sale.
