Karl Lagerfeld Partners with Vans for Karl Lagerfeld x Vans

By  |

Here’s two fashionable names you might not think would go together: Karl Lagerfeld and Vans.   The Chanel designer is partnering with Vans in September 2017 aka Fashion Month to launch a collaboration of footwear and apparel that contains elements of each brand’s trademark style.   The bible of the fashion world WWD broke the news about the forthcoming fashion collaboration to be known as Karl Lagerfeld x Vans.  California based Vans has been seen as the epitome as California Cool, while some might consider Lagerfeld the epitome of luxury, elegance and even snobbery.

According to WWD, the collaboration will fuse “the two brands’ respective universes, Vans’ hallmark checkerboard pattern is revisited using a cameo motif depicting Lagerfeld’s iconic profile, with boucle fabric and a quilted letter K among other leitmotifs.”

I have to admit this does sound intriguing.  Lagerfeld has been a bit of an enfant terrible in the past, famously dissing his budget collaboration with H&M in 2004.  As a Chanel lover, I’ll be curious to see this collection.   A little bit of Coco’s style without the Chanel price tag is always appreciated.

Karl Lagerfeld x Vans

Karl Lagerfeld x Vans offers footwear and apparel.

Prices range from an affordable $30.00 up to $400 US.   The collection is sold at select Vans and Lagerfeld boutiques as well as on both brand’s websites.
