NYFW Tadashi Shoji Fall/Winter 2017– Sixties Vintage Style

By  |

We braved the dreadful New York snow storm today to see the Tadashi Shoji show at Skylight Clarkson Studios. Was it worth it? Yes! Tadashi Shoji is always stunning, but this was a very vintage  styled collection with a nod to sixties styles for Fall/Winter 2017.

The collection offered bell sleeves, capes, ties, velvet, floral brocades and shimmering satins, all with the glamour that is the trademark of Tadashi Shoji. The sixties styled pantsuit looked like one worn by Jimi Hendrix.See of video of the final walk from our Instagram @Recessionista.

According to Tadashi Shoji, ” there is a wave of change taking over the world. From the streets of London and Paris to Berlin and Japan, this unrest will set you in motion. Provocative lyrics talk to you. Drape the opulent coat over your flowing velvet dress and join the others. Leave inhibitions behind. The time to express your true self is now.”    Isn’t that what the sixties was all about? 🙂
