The Limited maybe closing: shop their sale & use your gift cards

By  |

There is sad retail news today as many news outlets are reporting that The Limited chain of fashion stores may soon be closing.  As required by law in Ohio, the Ohio based retail store has filed filed a notice with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services giving notice of a “plant closing” that would affect their headquarters employees.  The bad news comes in the wake of several quarters of disappointing sales for The Limited chain of stores.

Eva Longoria t The Limited for Fall 2016

A collage of the Eva Longoria pieces at The Limited for Fall 2016–all now reduced.

Right now everything is 50% off at The Limited website, which may be good news for consumers doing their last minute Christmas/Holiday shopping.  However, note their are no returns.  The sale included The Limited’s Eva Longoria collection, a collection that Ms. Longoria has promoted tirelessly and had some success with.

Website Total Retail notes ‘”Hopefully a buyer will emerge for Limited and breathe new life into the brand.”  That would be the best possible outcome.   Right now, consumers should use any gift cards they have at The Limited, and snatch up some of the deals.  If the chain goes out of business and doesn’t find a buyer, the gift cards will not be usable.

Eva Longoria Buttoned Cape

The Eva Longoria Buttoned Cape is now on sale for $65.00

What’s on our pick list from The Limited?  The Eva Longoria cape reduced to approximately $130.00, will  be $65.00.  If you’re looking at New Year’s Eve options,  there are some good looking party dresses on the sale.  Jewelry, accessories, pants, scarves and hats are all reduced now.

Thanks to one of our favorite readers Mia, for this hot tip!

Editor’s Note: Since posting this story, I’ve heard from several customers of The Limited that there is no customer service for online orders and that shipments maybe delayed.  As of  Dec. 30, we’ve heard that The Limited stores will officially close on Jan. 7, 2017.
