TJ Maxx and Marshalls Yielding to Boycott on Ivanka Trump

By  |

Ivanka Trump’s fashion line is not selling and even discount retailers seems to be having issues with trying to sell it.  According to one of our favorite reads, The New York Times,   TJ Maxx and Marshalls are backing off promoting Ivanka Trump merchandise.  “All Ivanka Trump signs should be discarded,” TJ Maxx employees were told per a report from The New York Times.   According to Doreen Thompson, a spokeswoman for the TJX Companies, the Ivanka Trump line has not been removed from the sales floors at the stores, the stores are just selectively rotating the inventory of the products.  All retailers do this to find out what products are most popular, and to try to sell them quickly.

In California, I’ve seen very small amounts of Ivanka Trump accessories and apparel at local TJ Maxx stores and at Ross Dress for Less.  There are few items, in the stores and from what I have seen, the remaining items are on clearance racks. I just don’t think customers want to pay a lot of money for this merchandise, they want deals from top designers, that’s always been the lure of Marshalls and TJ Maxx.

I have to wonder what’s left in this evolving saga of the Trump fashion line.  Will President Trump blast TJ Maxx and Marshalls on Twitter as he did Nordstrom?  Tune in tomorrow as the Trump Twitter wars continue. 🙂 Follow the hashtag #GrabYourWallet for all the details.  Ivanka Trump’s fashions are still sold Macy’s, Amazon and  Bloomingdale’s, but for how long?
