Snoopy and Belle Fashion Exhibit at Beverly Center

By  |

A special exhibit comes to Los Angeles next week, showing off Snoopy and his fashionable sister Belle in fashions from top designers. More than 30 of the world’s most acclaimed apparel designers have created one-of-a-kind designs for the “Snoopy & Belle in Fashion” traveling exhibit which makes its US public debut at the Beverly Center on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14th.

One of our favorites, Snoopy and Belle in Isabel Marant.

Visitors to the exhibit, which is open to the public through March 12, will enjoy the rare collection of mini-couture outfits featured on 10” vinyl Snoopy and Belle dolls.  I got to see the exhibit a few years ago at New York Fashion Week and I can tell you, it’s very special. “Snoopy & Belle in Fashion” premiered at New York Fashion Week in September of 2014 . I don’t think there has been a US showing since 2014.  But now in 2017, the exhibit is going out on the road–starting in Los Angeles. If you are in Los Angeles, you’ll want to stop by the Beverly Center to see the Peanuts gang in fashions by top designers.

In the exhibit, one of our favorite film costume designers,  Colleen Atwood pays homage to two of the films for which she won Oscars by transforming Snoopy into the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and Belle into a Geisha girl from Memoirs of a Geisha.

Snoopy Betsey Johnson

Snoopy and Belle rock out in Betsey Johnson

Diane Von Furstenberg created the world’s smallest version of her signature wrap dress just for Bell while Betsey Johnson went wild with miniature embellishments, including pink hair, reminiscent of the designer’s own 80’s punk rocker days.

Snoopy and Belle J Mendel

Snoopy and Belle model their J. Mendel looks.

Look for the exhibit starting Feb 14 the Grand Court/Level 6 @ The Beverly Center, 8500 Beverly Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA
