UNIQLO X Theory Review: It’s all about the fabric

By  |

Like many of you I was excited to hear that upscale lifestyle fashion brand Theory was coming to UNIQLO this summer.  Theory is a favorite brand of mine for both its comfort and sophisticated styling.  However, when it comes to the UNIQLO x Theory collection, the fabrication is sadly disappointing.

The UNIQLO X Theory A Line dress

The UNIQLO X Theory A Line dress in soft blue (Priced at $39.90)

Theory is an expensive brand with prices ranging from $65.00 tops for Women to dresses and jackets for over $300.00 US.  One of the most wonderful things about the Theory luxury line is the fabrication, featuring breathable fabrics for summer like cotton and line.

The material used in the UNIQLO x Theory line, although much cheaper, is no where near as comfortable. The fabric used is Ultra Stretch fabric. The fabric has plenty of stretch, but it’s also rather scratchy and rough on the skin.  Even for the price point, to me, it’s not a worthwhile purchase because it’s uncomfortable.  The short sleeve polo dress with a fitted collar and full skirt is so oversized, it’s easy to get lost in it.  If you like this collection, do try to visit a store to try the pieces on and see if the fabric and fit are to your liking.

If you love the Theory brand, this collection is a pass.   If you are looking for a deal on Theory check their end of season sale (offering 60% off) on the Theory website or look for Theory at Nordstrom Rack.  See below for a few of my Theory sale picks.
