Fashion Trend: The Bomber Jacket

ASOS bomber jackets

ASOS showed some interesting bomber jackets for fall.

Bomber Jackets are everywhere this fall. If the retail store windows haven’t convinced you, new research from Google will.  Bomber Jackets are way up in search,  with the US and the UK being the most popular markets judged by the “volume of searches” being run on the Google Search Engine.   According to Google, “This April, bomber jackets grew 297% YoY (year over year)  in the U.K. and 612% YoY in the U.S. As the trend continues to gain traction, there has been more search interest year-round and the spike in spring has become more prominent than ever.”  That interest in continuing from Spring into the current season for Fall /Winter.  Surprisingly, satin and silk bomber jackets are generating steady interest, rather than the traditional leather.

Endless Rose Floral Sequin Bomber Jacket

This black bomber jacket with roses on the sleeves is one of the most beautiful bomber jackets I have seen this season. Bloomingdale’s exclusive $128.00.

Black, pink and green colored bomber jackets are seeing the highest amount of interest in Google search for colors. For bomber jackets we’ve seen everything from Amelia Earhart inspired aviator jackets to upscale “letterman” jackets.  There are some beautiful bomber jackets with floral embroidery and embellishments.  Even luxury retailer Net-a-Porter is showing bomber jackets ranging in price from $480 to over $2,000 US.  Our favorite luxe looking bomber jacket is the beautiful bomber jacket above from Bloomingdale’s priced at an affordable $128.00.  See some of our favorite bomber jackets below.
